Project Description

Parkinson’s Specialist

Parkinson’s disease or syndrome is a progressive disorder of the nervous system that affects movement. The four primary symptoms are tremors, rigidity or stiffness of the limbs and trunk; bradykinesia, or slowness of movement; and postural instability, or impaired balance and coordination. As these symptoms become more pronounced, patients may have difficulty walking, talking, or completing other simple tasks.

Balance Solutions provides skilled physical therapy intervention for individuals with Parkinson’s. Patients receive a thorough evaluation which includes assessment of strength, flexibility, functional mobility, posture, balance, and fine motor skills. Extensive education is provided to patient and family members, including home exercise programs. Treatment plans are developed based on individual needs.

Our therapists specialize in many different aspects of physical therapy; working together to maximize functional gains for our patients. Balance Solutions believes in providing continual opportunities for professional growth and educational advancement.

Our therapists are trained in-house and participate in regularly scheduled in-services training as well as hands-on continuing educational courses to advance their knowledge and skills. Our staff trains as a team, all therapists can perform similar techniques with slightly different styles to accommodate the many types of patients seen at Balance Solutions. We practice what we teach, several of our therapists travel the country teaching these methods to other therapists and facilities.
